It didn’t take long to establish ourselves and we slowly started to add accessories such as hair clips, ready made jewellery, craft, ribbons, buttons, trimmings and feathers until it had the feel of a real Bazaar. It wasn’t long before we decided to expand. We heard of a centre similar to Affleck’s Palace in Liverpool called Quiggins, another up-and-coming alternative shopping centre. After a lot of thinking about what we should do, we decided to go ahead and open another shop in Quiggins in August 2000. Here, our 2nd Bead Shop was born. We followed the same formula, bright pinks and purples as a running theme, warm, inviting and decorative with lots of lovely things. Matt, my eldest son, moved to Liverpool to take charge, it was a great success straight away and all the beady people of Liverpool loved it. | Suddenly we were into expansion mode, we were looking to get a shop on the high street in York but the landlords were proving very difficult, so we pulled out at the last minute. Disappointed, we drove over to look at a few places in Chester, and there on Frodsham Street, we found a shop to let, this time things went well with the owners and by February 2003 we opened our 1st shop on a high street, a lovely space to house our 3rd Bead Shop. Once again we used lots of pinks and purples as a theme, we stocked the shop with our beautiful beads and accessories and our shop became a huge success, the response was excellent and Chester welcomed The Bead Shop with open arms.
